Traveling in the summer has its challenges. Since my last post I have been to Denver and Albuquerque in two separate trips, both involving airlines. Each trip involved late take-off times. You know they are doing their best and are frustrated themselves, but it still is unpleasant for the traveler.
Unfortunately, I was also selected for random total body screening. I didn’t even know such a thing existed. A supervisor watches while a screener literally pats down all your body and clothing. At least I didn’t have to take my clothes off, although I had to open my shirt and unzip my pants. I was tsa-prechecked, but that didn’t seem to matter.
Home now with plenty of stories to share in other post.
Musings is my attempt at learning from David Sedaris’ book, “Theft by Finding.” This book is autobiographical about his early working life, and how he got into writing. It is an edited version of his journals from then in which he simply wrote down random thoughts every now and then with the idea of possibly fleshing them out later.
Simply putting one idea into words can help you get past writer’s block. From that one idea you can let your mind expand a story around it. What I write tends to be non-fiction.
I am exploring ways to incorporate them into my writing with this website. Some of the thoughts are random, some relate to something I am working on. Writing is such a joy
Strawberries – Am I just growing them to feed the animals that cross my yard. Today I tried to attach them to a tomato trellis. So far they are not enthusiastic about that idea. They like hiding in dark corners more than being exposed to the sun. Hope I can keep them alive while I work out the kinks in this plan.
